His threshing floor

All who desire to be brought into maturity shall pass through the Threshing Floor of Christ.

God just revealed to me that the gift of righteousness by being justified by His blood and the fruits of righteousness which we are called to grow into by being disciplined by the Father are two very different realities.

The gift of righteousness which was afforded by the finished work of the cross and that righteousness which is the fruit of a mature disciplined son and daughter can be differentiated when we consider what His cross accomplished through the fulfillment of the law and what He works out in us as we take up our cross.

We read in Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.(THIS IS SPEAKING OF THE OLD SINAIC COVENANT GIVEN TO MOSES – Jeremiah 31:31-33)
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

God’s work through the cross of Christ is called the propitiation by which He was condemned in the place of the guilty. God satisfied His own divine justice by condemning His own innocent Son for the sins of the world.

Romans 4:22 And therefore it was imputed to him (Abraham) for righteousness.
23 Now it was not written for him alone that it was imputed to him,
24 but for us also to whom it is to be imputed, to the ones believing on Him who has raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
25 who was delivered because of our offenses and was raised for our justification.

Romans 5

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Through Him we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice on the hope of the glory of God.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.
18 He who believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
21 But he who practices truth comes to the Light so that his works may be revealed, that they exist, having been worked in God.

Although we are justified by the gift of Christ, we are warned not to abuse the grace of God by living as we please.

Romans 6

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound?
2 Let it not be! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
3 Do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised up from [the] dead by the glory of the Father; even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been joined together in the likeness of His death, we shall also be [in the likeness] of His resurrection;
6 knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [Him] in order that the body of sin might be destroyed, that from now on we should not serve sin.
7 For he who died has been justified from sin.

You need to understand that this “BAPTISM” is not water baptism because water baptism does not crucify the sinner in you.

This is why the Apostle clearly declared in 1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel; not in wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those being lost, but to us being saved, [it is] the power of God.

It takes the SPIRITUAL BAPTISM of Holy Spirit fire as we follow Christ not just “to” the cross unto salvation as infants, but also “through” the cross in obedience unto the death of our former way of life to bring us into manifested sonship.

Matthew 3:11 I am baptizing you with water as evidence of repentance, but the one who is coming after me is stronger than I am, and I am not worthy to carry his sandals. It is He who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
12 His winnowing fork is in His hand. He will clean up His threshing floor and gather His grain into the barn, but He will burn the chaff with inextinguishable fire.”

This SPIRITUAL THRESHING PROCESS was also explained by Christ in John 15 as being pruned by the Father.

John 15

1 I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser.
2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away. And every one that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bring forth more fruit.

God has to purify us from the dross of our own rebellious ways if we desire to produce the fruits of mature sonship.

Hebrews 12:5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons, My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked by Him;
6 for whom the Lord loves He chastens, and He scourges every son whom He receives.
7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons, for what son is he whom the father does not chasten?
8 But if you are without chastisement, of which all are partakers, then you are bastards and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected [us], and we gave [them] reverence. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?
10 For truly they chastened [us] for a few days according to their own pleasure, but He for our profit, that [we] might be partakers of His holiness.
11 Now chastening for the present does not seem to be joyous, but grievous. Nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who are exercised by it.
