Mystery of the wife of the Lamb

To understand the mystery of the wife of the Lamb of God: by Pieter Kirstein

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself.

29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the church:

30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

In verse 31 we clearly see and perceive the principle of abandonment to Jesus Christ.

This is taken from Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

In 1 Corinthians 6:15 we read: Know you not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of a harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know you not that he who is joined to a harlot is one body? for two, says he, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

The bride of Jesus Christ is sold out to her Lord and completely subject to God’s authority through His rule and reign. She does not prostitute herself with other lovers which are things that distorts or interfere with her devotion to God.

She sees everything that the god of this fallen world offer as a threat. She rebukes Satan like her Lord in Luke 4 when he entices her to bow to the desire of material gain because she knows full well that the more she has the more distracted she becomes so as with a child she finds fulfillment in the simple things of life. The glamour of the material world means nothing to her because she worships the Lord her God and serves Him only.

5 And the devil, taking him up into a high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give you, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

7 If you therefore will worship me, all shall be yours.

8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get you behind me, Satan: for it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.

She is “veiled” in the holiness of the Holy Spirit because she lives behind the veil of the realm of the senses. She abandoned herself to the Lover of her soul. She has sanctified Christ in her heart and lives only to please Him. Her heart have been captured by the all-satisfying love of God. She is one whom the Lord has conquered. She reigns in life through Jesus Christ because this world has nothing for her. She is crucified with Jesus so she is not influenced by the world around her.

She influences the world around her by spreading the fragrance of Christ wherever she moves. She understands that light shines out into the darkness, not the other way around.

Through the love that she has for Jesus the seed of her life is sacrificed. She understands that unless a seed falls into the ground and dies it only remains a single seed so she refuse to live only for herself. In her intimate relationship with the Lord she allowed Him to impregnate her sacrificed seed. She carry nations within her spiritual womb. She is the mother of the final harvest. She understands the God ordained law of multiplication through a surrendered seed.

God wanted a family so He planted a Seed (Jesus) within the earth. We are the fruit of His sacrifice. Now she allows her Bridegroom to continue the principle through her laid down life. In her the commandment and royal law of Jesus Christ is fulfilled when He said in John 15: 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in me.

5 I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.

6 If a man abides not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.

8 In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be my disciples.

9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you: continue you in my love.

10 If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

12 This is my commandment, That you love one another, as I have loved you.

13 Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

As with Adam and Eve, a type and a shadow of Christ and His bride, Jesus was put to sleep on the cross. The Holy Spirit brings the bride through the ministry of the cross unto the death of self and He reaches into the side of the last Adam to bring her forth through the sanctification and the washing of the water through the word of God.

When the spleen of Christ was pierced, blood and water gushed forth.

By the washing of the water through her obedience to the word of God the Holy Spirit brings her into the redemption of the blood through true repentance. She does not, like many, trample the blood of the Son of God underfoot by abusing His grace. She fears God by walking away from evil. She has renounced the secret sins of the flesh and through the circumcision of her heart only walks in the Spirit of God.

In her Galations 5:24 and 25 is fulfilled that declares; And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
