The Armour of God part 5

⚔️The Armor of God.🛡 Part 5

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Notice it says “ABOVE ALL” taking the shield of faith.

Is our faith not in the Lord our God and is He not the only sovereign power, glory and strength of His people?

Is it not written in Ephesians 3:20 that our God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

Easy English Translation – God is able to do so much more than we could ever ask. He is able to do so very much more than we could even think. He does such great things because He works so powerfully in us.

Psalm 18:30 As for God, His way is perfect: the word of the LORD is proven: He is a shield to all those that trust in Him.

Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise Him.

The just shall live by faith in God, not faith in himself, but faith in who God is and how He is able to strengthen us by His indwelling Spirit to do all things well and perfect and excellent.

Zechariah 4:6 Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit says the Lord.

Faith and trust in the Lord is something that grows within us in our walk towards maturity and fruitfulness. It’s in our losing control of our lives, into His all powerful hands, that we learn to find our faith and strength in God.

Trials develops our faith muscles and as we are tested we find that the Lord is a faithful trustworthy God.

We can no longer want to be in control of our lives because we did not make it in our little, fallen, defeated, sinful, rebellious worlds when we lived for ourselves and He had to come and rescue us.

Now that we are born into the Father’s faith family we get challenged by God to surrender ourselves and the entirety of our hearts, our minds and our lives to Him as we choose to follow Jesus on the road of the cross, which is a pathway of self denial and a stripping of self because we lived in bondage to ourselves and we need to be delivered and raised up and brought into the new way of life which is the law of the Spirit of the life of Christ that sets us free from the life in the flesh in which we were bound by the law of sin and death, for to be carnally minded is death, but to be Spiritually minded is life and peace.

The Father’s purpose and desire is to bring us into the release and the blessing and the freedom of the life of His Son but we must be willing to sacrifice and let go of the old way of life in the flesh by which Satan kept us enslaved to ourselves being driven by the lust of the flesh, the lust of eyes and the pride of this life.

He is the shield of our faith that protects us all the way to maturity, no matter how hard Satan fights and tries to stop us. The key is to always focus on God as the scripture declares in Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You: because he trusts in You.

We see the shield of faith portrayed and declared within Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, said the LORD.

Again we see the shield again declared in Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
29 For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers.
30 Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifies.
34 Who is he that comdemns? It is Christ that died, yes rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For your sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So look to your God beloved soldier of Christ and declare that He is the shield of your faith and nothing can destroy you because you are covered and protected and shielded in Him who already defeated hell, death and the grave for you and on your behalf.

Declare the all powerful might and strength of the Lord against all the attacks and the works of the enemy and that the battle always belongs to the King of kings and the Lord of lords who alone is the sovereign God and head over all principalities and kingdoms and powers and command that they be brought under subjection to His rule and reign whenever they try to mislead you through any form of deceit.

Satan is an opportunist and he knows that he is absolutely powerless against a person who knows that the Lord is their light and their salvation and the all powerful source and strength of their life.

A beautiful prayer found in Psalms that you can pray over your life about the fact that God is the shield and the strength of His people.

Psalms 35
1 A Psalm of David. Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help.
3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am your salvation.
4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.
6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.
7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have dug for my soul.
8 Let destruction come upon him unawares; and let his net that he has hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.
9 And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in His salvation.
10 All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto You, who delivers the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that plunders him?
11 False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.
12 They rewarded me evil for good to the sorrow of my soul.
13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into my own bosom.
14 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourns for his mother.
15 But in my adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the attackers gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:
16 With hypocritical mockers at feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
17 Lord, how long will you look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my precious life from the lions.
18 I will give You thanks in the great congregation: I will praise You among many people.
19 Let not them that are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.
20 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.
21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye has seen it.
22 This you have seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O LORD, be not far from me.
23 Stir up yourself, and awake to my defense, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.
24 Judge me, O LORD my God, according to Your righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.
25 Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
26 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at my hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me.
27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.
28 And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness and of Your praise all the day long.
