The pain of regeneration

Regeneration and transformation is a painful process.

By Pieter Kirstein

We are as pliable clay in God’s hands and obviously the moulding process into the likeness and image of Jesus
will be a painful transition because we are carnal and sinful with absolute wrong structures and foundations and thought patterns and strongholds and emotional wounds and broken lives.

WE NEED TO BE RECREATED AND OUR OLD STRUCTURES MUST BE BROKEN DOWN AND DESTROYED. EVERY EMOTIONAL WOUND MUST BE HEALED. OUR THOUGHT LIFE MUST BE RENEWED THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD AND OUR FLESH (which is the old earthy man) MUST BE CRUCIFIED because it originated from the seed of the serpent through the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Romans 5:12 Therefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

15 So also is the free gift not like the offense. For if through the offense of one many are dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, has abounded unto many.

16 So is the gift not like it was by one that sinned: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses unto justification.

17 For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more they who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

18 Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

The righteousness of God’s Son is imputed to all of His children but righteousness is a learned thing.

There is a divine condition set before every child of God if we want to understand what righteousness is.

Now I’m going to be bold and make a statement; the reason why most Christians are living in complete ignorance of what righteousness actually is, is because they are not in pursuit of God. You will see in this teaching that if you resist spending personal time with the Lord through the study of His word then you cannot discover the power of His righteousness.

God made the righteousness of His Son available to every believer but so few are walking in it.

The contents and motives of our hearts are laid bare and exposed before the Lord by that which we pursue.

We are not called as kingdom people to pursue churches, personalities, fame, fortune, worldly possessions or the traditions and doctrines of people.

I wonder how many people know what righteousness is?

We read in Mat 5:6 Blessed are they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

God who is holy sent His Son to deliver us from the rebellious ways of our sinful flesh.

We read in Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live sensibly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;

14 Who gave himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for His own, zealous of good works.

15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise you.

Jesus said in Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

The scribes and Pharisees were religious hypocrites who made a show of religion. They were stage players before the people but walked not in righteousness before God. They only portrayed themselves to be servants of God to win the favor of men but God knew their hypocritical hearts. They loved to make a show of what they professed to be without conforming to what they preached. These people only “talked” well of God but in their hearts they knew Him not. They saw the Son of God as a major threat because they didn’t want to give up the kingdoms that they built in the name of religion. They loved the praise and accolades of men but were enemies of God in their hearts and in their minds.

These people were bound and blinded by the spirit of religion. The spirit of religion is an anti-Christ spirit that wants to bind people to a man made system of religious works and performance. It seeks to subject it’s victims to unscriptural government by usurping the lordship of Jesus Christ. It seeks to make people dependant on religious leaders through witchcraft, intimidation and control. It seeks to blind God’s children from understanding the way of righteousness.

It seeks to establish ones own righteousness through religious works as in the account of the Pharisee in Luke 18:9 And he spoke this parable unto certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax collector.

11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank you, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.

12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for everyone that exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.

Luke 1:68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for He has visited and redeemed His people,

69 And has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David;

70 As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, who have been since the world began:

71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember His holy covenant;

73 The oath which he swore to our father Abraham,

74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve Him without fear,

75 In holiness and righteousness before Him, all the days of our life.

As we read in 2Co 5:21 For He has made Him, who knew no sin, to be sin for us; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

What does it help to only hear that we are the righteousness of God but then continue a life of sin and rebellion?

What does God tell us in His word?

1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil companions corrupt good morals.

34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

In the following scripture we shall discover that righteousness is a learned thing although we received the righteousness of Jesus through faith. We cannot live in ignorance of that righteousness by living as we please without expecting consequences. God is very clear about this fact.

So how do we learn what righteousness is?

Proverbs 2

1 My son, if you will receive my words, and lay up my commandments with you;

2 So that you incline your ear unto wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding;

3 Yea, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding;

4 If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures;

5 Then shall you understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

6 For the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

7 He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a shield to them that walk uprightly.

8 He keeps the paths of justice, and preserves the way of his saints.

9 Then shall you understand righteousness, and justice, and equity; yea, every good path.

10 When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul;

11 Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you.

12 To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks perverse things;

13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the perverseness of the wicked;

15 Whose ways are crooked, and who are perverse in their paths.

Can you see why we need to learn what righteousness is child of God?

I heard a well known preacher teach the lie that the Holy Spirit does not convict God’s children of sin. He only reminds us of our righteousness.

This is heresy that justifies sin under the banner of false grace. This is why many people are so carnal because they are parelized in self righteousness which means they live according to their own standard of what they think is right.

Jesus said in Joh 16:8 And when the Holy Spirit is come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.

Without conviction of sin you will never learn what righteousness is child of God. This is just one of many reasons why God is going to shake every doctrine and false foundation because people have no clue whatsoever about our righteousness in Jesus Christ. If you live a life of rebellion and sin contrary to the righteous standard of the Son of God then His righteousness means absolutely nothing to you because we are called into agreement with God through repentance, we are called to become like His Son through transformation wrought into us by the power of His Spirit.

This is what the Lord said to me about His statement in Hebrews 10:15 The Holy Spirit also is a witness to us: for after this he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

If we resist Him by going our own way then He warns us in the rest of this chapter.

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much worse punishment, suppose you, shall he be thought worthy, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done insult unto the Spirit of grace?

30 For we know him that has said, Vengeance belongs unto me, I will recompense, says the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

The righteous judgment on our lives through the entrance of God’s word brings with it strong conviction of sin because we are being transformed from glory to glory as we behold Him. Jesus is our righteousness which means that God justified us through the forgiveness of sin in the blood of His Son but we are commanded to repent through a process of sanctification otherwise God’s Son is trodden underfoot, and we insult the Holy Spirit who desires to conform our lives to the standard of Jesus Christ. When we continue in rebellion against God we count the blood of the covenant, with which we were sanctified, an unholy thing AND THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS THING.

This is exactly what the Apostle Peter meant when he wrote the following in 2 Peter 1

1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ:

2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

3 According as His divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called us to glory and virtue: (we are called into relationship and agreement with God)

4 By which are given unto us exceedingly great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (God wants to transform us to become like Him, sharing His nature and holiness)

5 And for this reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6 And to knowledge self control; and to self control patience; and to patience godliness;

7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love.

8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

10 Therefore rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if you do these things, you shall never fall:

11 For so an entrance shall be provided unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Now you need to ask yourself if you are allowing or resisting the work of the Holy Spirit in your life.

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

18 But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

God through the power of the new covenant gospel of His Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth desires to set us free through the knowledge of His truth. Allow Him to speak into your heart through the power of His truth by allowing His Spirit to work the necessary change that God desires.

James 1:22 But be you doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:

24 For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was.

25 But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues in it, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

26 If any man among you seems to be religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

27 Pure religion and undefiled before God the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Through the righteousness of God you are called to become like His Son Jesus Christ.

1 John 2:4 He that says, I know Him, and keeps not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

5 But whoever keeps His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: by this we know that we are in Him.

6 He that says he abides in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.

John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews who believed on Him, If you continue in My word, then are you My disciples indeed;

32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

33 They answered him, We are Abraham’s descendants, and were never in bondage to any man: how say You, you shall be made free?

34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin.

35 And the servant abides not in the house forever: but the Son abides ever.

36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

Psalms 1

1 Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.

Let me declare the following fact and reality to this generation. Nobody can say they believe in God, nobody can claim to follow and walk with Christ, nobody can live the life of the Spirit of God, nobody can love as He loves and do as He did without making the actual sacrifices to do so. Christianity in its pure essence is to humble oneself and yield to the actual operation and working of the principle, the circumcision and the power of the cross in dying to self to be brought forth by the resurrection power of God into the new order of a changed life. Fulfilling the law of faith is to fulfill the law of sacrifice. Faith is validated by obedience.

Anything outside the pure doctrine of living the actual life of Yeshua Jesus Christ of Nazareth through the laying down of ones old fleshly ways is not the gospel of God.

1 Timothy 6: 3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting over questions and disputes of words, out of which comes envy, strife, railings, evil suspicions,

5 Perverse wranglings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw yourself.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

This simply means to obey the doctrine that unveils and manifests the risen Christ within a surrendered life. We are to conform to Yeshua Jesus as God’s only standard of righteousness and be content with it.

James 2:8 If you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well:

9 But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, and are convicted of the law as transgressors.

10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if you commit no adultery, yet you kill, you are become a transgressor of the law.

12 So speak, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that has showed no mercy; and mercy triumphs over judgment.

14 What does it profit, my brethren, though a man says he has faith, and has not works? can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be warmed and filled; yet you give them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit?

17 Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone.

18 Yea, a man may say, You have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

19 You believe that there is one God; you do well: the demons also believe, and tremble.

20 But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

22 See how faith worked with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

23 And the scripture was fulfilled which says, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

24 You see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Consider the following word of the Lord through J Leland Earls :

“Now consider the mount on which Jesus taught His disciples, and that which is revealed in what is commonly called the ‘Sermon on the Mount.’ Were there not multitudes which came to hear that which Jesus spoke?

And were not the disciples taken apart and instructed in that which the multitudes were not ready to hear?

I say to you, I am calling to Myself a people who will sit at My feet and hear My words—who will be instructed in the truths of My kingdom and My righteousness.

That which is revealed in the Sermon on the Mount is what I require of those who would enter my heavenly kingdom. For was it not said, ‘You shall be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect?’ (Matt. 5:48)

Will I not do a perfecting work in those who are to be received of Me in My own realm?

For I say, except your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the nominal Christian of today, you shall not enter My heavenly kingdom. (THEIR SUBMITTING THEMSELVES THROUGH OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WAYS)

My kingdom is not for babes and toddlers but for those who have been brought to maturity. For My kingdom is a ruling kingdom, and only those qualified to take a responsibility in My kingdom shall be admitted thereto. Others, though saved, will be barred until they have come into that minimum perfection which I require.

I say to you, study carefully the precepts of the kingdom as revealed in the Sermon on the Mount, for therein is the pattern of righteousness which I require. It is for those who are willing to be my disciples. Others will hear the words and know the outer husk thereof, but only those fully instructed into my kingdom by my Spirit shall reap the benefits of this righteousness of the heart.

Therefore hear My word my people!

Will you be among those I am drawing to My mount?

And will you sit at My feet day by day and let me teach you My ways?”
(end of prophecy)

The Christian life is not a walk in the park because we are at war. This war and battle was won on the cross when Jesus declared; “It is finished” but still we are called to overcome by submitting ourselves to the Lordship of God through His Son Jesus Christ. Satan works through deception whereas God is the God of truth.

If we resist transformation by the standard of His truth then our darkness remains and we live in defeat. Every child of God are admonished to undergo and embrace the circumcision of the sword of the Lord, the renewing of our minds and hearts. God’s word is a living Word and we are called to embrace it’s circumcision. This circumcision has to do with the progressive cutting away of that which is earthly, fleshly and devilish.

God’s word is like a fire and a hammer that destroys strongholds and bondages. A stronghold in our emotions or in our minds happens through wrong thinking patterns and emotional wounds. God is not like people who hurts us emotionally nor blinds us by deception. He is LOVE. He is TRUTH and He desires to be allowed to work to set us free and to heal our hurts.

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh:

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;)

5 Casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

6 And having a readiness to punish all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

The Holy Spirit speaks in Hebrews 10: 15 The Holy Spirit also is a witness to us: for after this he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

This means that He wants to transform our hearts and minds with the living power of God’s truth to become like the WORD Jesus Christ.

John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews who believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed;

Don’t resist His transforming grace and love. Spend time with Him in His word and ask the Lord to bring you into agreement with Himself.

Romans 12

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Spirit of God spoke the following to me;

To resist My word is to resist My truth and to resist My truth means that you stay in bondage to the principles and the desires of your carnal nature. Every word I give through the revelation of My Spirit is for the good of My people. I am the God who brings freedom but if My children choose to resist My truth they stay in bondage.

I came to set the captives free and the words I speak carries My anointing to brake every yoke. I release the holy burning keys of My revealed will and purpose through My chosen servants and by these I desire to bring you into the freedom that I have for you so stop resisting and follow your God through the light of My shining revealed and glorious purpose.
