The testimony of the Overcomer

The testimony of the overcomer.

By Pieter Kirstein

I quote from a prophetic word spoken by the Spirit of God to the body of Christ Christ through J Leland Earls;

And now for the final promise to the overcomers in these seven letters. ‘To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.’ (Rev. 3:21). Even though I was the very Son of the Highest, functioning on the plane of Deity, I emptied myself and took on the form of man, that I might overcome as a man. Then was I highly exalted and given a place of rulership on the throne of my Father.

This is the pattern for those who love me and let me bring them into an overcoming experience, rising above the spiritual level of most Christians. To ‘overcome’ means to rise above, to come up over to a higher spiritual plane. It comes only through greater yielding and submission to my will. (End of Quote)

So now what happens further after that I’ve been saved by the grace of God because of the work of the cross of Christ?

Do I now live a life of complacency whilst paralyzed in the deception of my own fallen earthy ways, thinking that God must serve me and my desires, for my selfish benefit according to my self centered agendas, or did He create me to serve Him and His purposes through the love and humility of a thankful heart?

The Holy Spirit spoke the following to me about His overcomers: It reads, Rev 12:11 And they overcame him (satan) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives to the death.

Nobody can lay claim to these glories unless they have followed Christ not just “to” the cross unto salvation as a spiritual baby, but pressed on in obedience to answer the upward call of God in Christ, which is a call out of ourselves and the life lived in the flesh unto SPIRITUAL FRUITFULNESS and MATURITY.

Satan is the god of this fallen world that rules self because he causes people to be driven by their own lustful desires through the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

The only power made available to us by God to conquer the god of self is the love of God revealed in the cross of Christ through the call of self-denial. The god of self is Satan because he rules man through self-desire.

The principle of satan is self-exaltation so when we humble ourselves through the denial of self we conquer and dethrone the god of self.

How can Satan rule you when he looses the throne of SELF?

Self-exaltation through the indulgence of the pride of life, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes glorifies and enthrones Satan within the heart of man whereas the humility of self-denial liberates the heart and glorifies and enthrones the God of the cross.

Focussing on the overcoming power of the Lord’s blood;

People need to understand that the blood of Jesus is a very powerful ministry unto the saints. We are admonished in Hebrews 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20 By a new and living way, which He has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh;

21 And having a high priest over the house of God;

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.

26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much worse punishment, suppose you, shall he be thought worthy, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done insult unto the Spirit of grace?

30 For we know him that has said, Vengeance belongs unto me, I will recompense, says the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge His people.

Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

21 Make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Each child of the Father must heed His warnings and respect the power, the ministry, the sacredness and the sacrifice that it cost to make His blood available unto us. If we neglect to appreciate and appropriate the blood of Jesus by living recklessly in sin then we shall face the judgment of Almighty God because through the ministry of the cross He provided the means to be delivered from the deception and the root of sin which is self.

We sin because we yield to that which self wants and desires. Self is the seed of the serpent in fallen man and the power of the cross through the operation of the Spirit is the way to deliver us from ourselves. If you are crucified in the flesh by the Spirit of God you shall be free indeed.

Romans 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live. (THE SPIRIT CRUCIFIES THE FLESH)
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Verse 28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much worse punishment, suppose you, shall he be thought worthy, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done insult unto the Spirit of grace?

God commands us to repent and to turn away from our old life of sin and rebellion against God or what difference is there between us and the world?

He made the power available to us through the ministry of the cross to be crucified with Christ. The cross deals with the sinner in us and the blood washes away our sins. We cannot abuse the sacred holy blood of Jesus and the grace of a loving Father by continuing in the way we use to live for we read in Colossians 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience:

7 In which you also once walked, when you lived in them.

8 But now you also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy talk out of your mouth.

9 Lie not one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds;

10 And have put on the new man, that is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him.

We need to embrace the ministry of the redemptive work of the Holy Spirit by the blood of the eternal covenant. A covenant that seals the marriage between Christ and His beloved bride in death through the working of the cross and the ministry of the blood.

He calls us to honor His covenant. Christ already demonstrated His love for us through the sacrifice of himself and if we want to live for Him then we need to also sacrifice ourselves for Him. You cannot live for yourself and for Christ at the same time because the flesh is contrary to God.

Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

This is what He meant in Matthew 10:38 And he that takes not his cross, and follows after Me, is not worthy of Me.

You can only take up the life of Christ if you are willing to let go of yourself. He becomes your life and way of life as you allow Him to take you out of yourself through the work and ministry of the cross.

We are saved by grace through faith which is the gift of God through Christ but then we press on to know Him and to honor Him through holy living by submitting ourselves to the ministry of the blood and the work of the cross, not just unto salvation, but unto manifest sonship which brings forth, through the Father’s discipline, the fruits of Spiritual maturity.

The flesh is like a wild stallion that can only be broken in by God and to do this takes discipline.

Hebrews 12: 5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks unto you as unto children, My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked of him:
6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives.
7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not?
8 But if you be without chastisement, of which all are partakers, then are you illegitimate children, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but He for our profit, that we might be partakers of His holiness.
11 Now no chastening for the present seems to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them who are trained by it.

To follow Jesus in the way of the cross unto the death of self, WHICH IS YOUR OLD SINFUL CARNAL WAY OF LIFE, means that He will take you through a season of trial and tribulation to crucify and shake everything out of you that is not of God and everything that interferes with you being wholly sold-out and devoted to Him and everything that does not reflect His image and likeness.

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.

Patients is a fruit of the Spirit and it’s through the fire of seasonal trials and the work of the cross that we are brought into fruitfullness.

If you are wise, you will welcome the trials with joy, because any flesh in you will be crucified by trials.

God’s Spirit is working night and day to convince us to voluntarily die to our flesh, but some are avoiding the trials, and ignoring His convictions and will end up being badly shaken during the storm of tribulation.

Christ’s grace never overrules His Father’s holiness! His blood covers any sin that you have confessed, repented of, and turned from, but all fleshly works, deception and hidden sin, will ignite as it approaches the Fathers holiness for He is a consuming fire, 1 Corinthians 3:13-15.

All trials are because Father loves you so much and wants you to be able to approach Him without fear.

His grace allows you to come boldly unto the throne of grace, that you may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in your time of need, Hebrews 4:16. But grace will not cover unrepented sin, therefore, you will not be able to approach the Father with it and survive, Romans 6:15-16.

You can be sure that the Father’s love is doing everything possible to either, burn out or shake off anything that keeps Him and you apart! How your flesh dies is up to you but He wants you to be part of His unshakable Kingdom!

It’s in the fires of trying circumstances that God works through the ministry of the blood to purify and impart to us a new heart.

A heart in total submission to God, a heart according to Isaiah 48:10 and 11 that will not touch the glory of God.

10 Behold, I have refined you, but not with silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.

11 For My own sake, even for My own sake, will I do it: for how should My name be profaned? and I will not give My glory unto another.

Focussing on the testimony part: They overcome by the word of their testimony means that their whole lives have been conformed to the power, the truth and the reality of the Lord’s gospel. Their lives testifies of the reality of the overcoming truth because of their experience and faithful witness of the truth.

In other words they become expressions of the Lord’s truth and victory. No experience of the truth, no testimony and experience comes through obedience by applying the truth.

First the word becomes flesh within you through your obedience and relationship-building with the Word (Jesus), next you become filled with the Holy Spirit because the Word and the Spirit are one and the Spirit manifests the life of the Word in you. Then you become the voice and the operation of the Word by the power of God through the leading of the Holy Spirit. In God you become the authority.”

Focussing on the loosing their lives unto the death of self means that they, by revelation of the Spirit, saw, tasted and live in the experiental reality of a heart that has been conquered by the love of God.

They esteem being wholly devoted to the Lover of their souls far above any earthly gain because they have discovered, through the sacrifice of all, the Lord their God as the only satisfying factor, experience and reality in their surrendered lives.

Therefore the god of this world and all of his carnal fleshly lures have lost their power to intice these devoted ones to draw them away because they perceive what this world has to offer as a total obstacle and hindrance through the eyes of love.

Their desire is that there must be no interferance to their devotion to Christ because the truth and power of the cross has unlocked the joy and the freedom of His love in which is no earthly desire. By abandoning all they have gained Christ and there is no greater treasure and desire fulfilled than this.
