We do not peddle the word for profit

The gospel of Christ is not a quick rich scheme.

By Pieter Kirstein

God never gave any of His servants the right to peddle His word for profit. Jesus is the only example and He never changed. If any religious leader does not walk as Jesus walked then be sure they do not know the selfless, humble Son of God because He reveals and manifests himself in His true servants.

Micah 3

1 And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and you rulers of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment?

2 Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;

3 Who also eat the flesh of My people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.

4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but He will not hear them: He will even hide His face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves in an evil way in their deeds.

5 Thus says the LORD: Concerning the prophets who make My people stray, who bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that puts nothing into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.

6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that you shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that you shall not divine; and the sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.

7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer from God.

8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of justice, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

9 Hear this, I pray you, you heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, that abhor justice, and pervert all equity.

10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.

11 Her heads judge for reward, and her priests teach for hire, and her prophets divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? no evil can come upon us.

There are many prophets of profit in the religious world of men’s churches and God spoke the following word to me after I fasted and prayed about the greed of one of the big names in organised Christianity.

He said;

As soon as man start to take the credit for what only God can do in ministry is when corruption and greed start to move in and men become slaves of mammon.

We were never called by God to become merchandisers of His Son’s gospel because there is no greed in Jesus and no earthly desire in the love of God.

The scripture teaches that Godliness with contentment is great gain which means that the eternal gain of Godly character is one of God’s greatest gifts to man because in becoming like Jesus we discover that nothing can satisfy the soul as the love of God.

When I came into this world I knew that man was deceived and enslaved by mammon and this is why I lived such a simplistic life.

They say I was wealthy?

How would you feel if you have to share one common purse between 13 adult men, with a Judas as bank-manager and I gave alms on a daily basis?

I rode into Jerusalem on a borrowed donkey.

I was buried in a strangers tomb.

When the scribe came to me I told him that foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests but the Son of man doesn’t even have a place to lay His head.

Because when I came to this earth I came to change the value structures of man, I came to introduce Myself as the treasure. A devoted heart will always focus on Me as it’s greatest treasure.

A heart in pursuit of God counts all things loss for the sake of taking hold of God as the greatest, all satisfying treasure.

The upward call of God in Christ lifts the soul into the joyous presence of Almighty God and captures the heart in continual fellowship with Divinity.

There is no greater treasure or fulfillment than this, the continual pursuit, enjoyment and celebration of God in the simplicity of childlike faith.

Those who betray their Lord for the love of money become sons of perdition like Judas because they demonstrate that their devotion is toward earthly things.

A person in pursuit of material things has abandoned the faith and has become a worshipper of mammon.

Jesus said that a man is a slave to whatsoever has mastered him. We worship what we serve and our desires become exposed by that which we pursue. If we therefore want to become true worshippers of God then we will esteem and serve our Master above all earthly treasure. Did not the Master command His followers not to store up treasures on earth where moth and rust corrupt and thieves break in and steal? The thief comes but to kill steal and to destroy and he will lead you into perdition and steal your soul through the love of money.

Mammon makes his subjects slaves and servants of their own appetites whereas godliness liberates into the freedom of the Holy Spirit and causes one to indulge, rest and find contentment in the Lord of glory and these are they whom the Lord declares blessed because they hunger and thirst after righteousness.

Those who have any leanings toward the worldly life cannot hunger and thirst after righteousness. Childlikeness causes one to find satisfaction in the simple things of life because the more we have the more distracted we become. A child-like faith rejoices in God and always celebrates the freedom of godliness.

A true bond-servant of Christ despises anything less than God. Unrighteous mammon being placed in the hands of the un-righteous and spiritually immature is sure to activate the passions of the fallen nature and will cause further corruption or even destruction.

If you don’t allow the Spirit of God to crucify you in the flesh then the god of this world will bind you through your inward brokenness to the outward desires of your fallen flesh which is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of this life.

1 Timothy 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting over questions and disputes of words, out of which comes envy, strife, railings, evil suspicions,

5 Perverse wranglings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw yourself.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and clothing let us be with these things content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But you, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
